I rarely take photos of myself, and I never show photos of myself to others. These are not acts of principle, I feel disgusted when I see photos of myself. I hate when my face is acknowledged. My face is a void-a burnt hole in my parchment being. Any acknowledgment otherwise is false. To see a picture of myself that does not reflect my self-image is to see a fake being pretending to be me.
In a sense this is what draws me so much to online, anonymous spaces. Here, I can be faceless. I am my real self here. If you see me, please don't take my picture.
